Operations Intern

Job Summary

The Operations Intern manages multilateral program spreadsheets, project success storytelling media, stakeholder meeting agendas, regional data analytics decks, and general administrative files. Core duties include delivering logistical coordination for diplomatic and economic development meetings; reviewing partner progress reports; compiling project statistics; drafting institutional newsletters; and delivering a technical knowledge-sharing seminar.

Key Roles & Operational Responsibilities

1. Project Management & Program Document Architecture

• Review multi-sectoral program portfolios, analyzing external partner reports, institutional deliverables, and milestone trackers.
• Extract operational data to generate clear program statistics, performance analyses, and trend graphs for hub leadership.
• Build high-impact PowerPoint presentations and baseline project summaries to support senior-level decision-making.
• Execute foundational office support operations, including data entry, physical and digital scanning, systematic archiving, and file maintenance.

2. Full-Lifecycle Meeting & Event Logistics

• Provide end-to-end operational support for high-priority developmental and institutional meetings hosted at the Kampala Hub.
• Coordinate pre-meeting material distribution, manage technology setups during sessions, and handle post-event follow-up documentation.
• Interface professionally with diverse internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear operational communication.

3. Institutional Communications & Knowledge Management

• Research, identify, and draft compelling success stories highlighting IsDB project footprints in the region.
• Collaborate with communications teams to feature these developmental milestones within the official IsDB Newsletter.
• Prepare and execute at least one structured knowledge-sharing presentation for the RHK team on a specialized sector topic of personal academic interest.

Foundational Capabilities & Prerequisites

Eligible Fields of Academic Study

Applicants must have graduated with a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree within the past 12 months from an accredited institution, specializing in one of the following domains:

• Project Management / International Development
• Economics / Development Economics / Finance
• Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related disciplines)
• Agriculture / Agribusiness / Rural Development
• Health Sciences (Medical Doctors or related healthcare/public health fields)
• Communications / Public Relations / Institutional Media

Required Technical Profile & Skills

• Digital Literacy: High level of comfort with core computing platforms, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Execution & Drive: Proven capability to handle assigned workflows independently, with minimal direction, while maintaining a sharp attention to detail.
• Communication Capabilities: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Verbal or written proficiency in an additional working language of the Bank (e.g., Arabic or French) is highly valued.
• Team Synergy: Strong interpersonal attributes, enabling effective collaboration within a multi-national and cross-functional corporate setting.
