Revenue Growth & Trade Marketing Director

Job Summary

Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda is hiring a Revenue Growth & Trade Marketing Director in Kampala. Reporting to the Managing Director, this executive role requires 13+ years of FMCG experience to lead Revenue Growth Management (RGM) strategies, pricing, trade marketing excellence, portfolio optimization, and cross-functional commercial operations. Key Roles & Operational Responsibilities

1. Strategic Revenue Growth Management (RGM)

• Pricing & Discount Architecture: Lead the formulation and implementation of RGM strategies, including value-based pricing, discount structures, commercial terms, and margin optimization.
• Promotional Effectiveness: Evaluate and optimize promotional spend, trade terms, and marketing investments to maximize gross margin and return on commercial investment.
• Portfolio & Category Strategy: Optimize product portfolio mix, pack sizes, and pricing tiers across beverage categories to maximize market share and sustainable profitability.

2. Trade Marketing & Channel Leadership

• Brand Visibility & Activation: Formulate and execute trade marketing strategies that drive brand presence, point-of-sale execution, and shopper conversion across trade channels.
• Program Execution: Oversee product launches, customer activations, trade campaigns, and channel-specific promotional programs.
• Channel Architecture: Develop multi-channel strategies aligned with shopper behavior, route-to-market dynamics, and customer growth objectives.

3. Commercial Analytics & Cross-Functional Alignment

• Insight-Driven Strategy: Translate shopper, consumer, market, and competitor analytics into actionable commercial initiatives and new revenue streams.
• Key Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, and Brand teams at The Coca-Cola Company to align bottler execution with brand objectives.
• Capability Building: Coach, lead, and develop the internal RGM and Trade Marketing teams, establishing succession plans and organizational capabilities.

Foundational Capabilities & Prerequisites

Required Educational Background & Experience

• Academic Credentials: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Management, Economics, or a related discipline. An MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree is strongly preferred.
• Commercial Experience: 13+ years of progressive leadership experience in Revenue Growth Management (RGM), Trade Marketing, Commercial Operations, or Sales Leadership within the FMCG industry.
• Geographic & Scale Exposure: Extensive background operating within multi-market, multi-channel, or regional FMCG environments with a proven track record of driving large-scale revenue growth.

• Financial & Commercial Acumen: Advanced mastery of pricing strategies, discount structures, margin management, P&L mechanics, and trade spend efficiency.
• Trade & Shopper Expertise: Deep knowledge of African trade channels, shopper behavior, customer management, and retail execution.
• Executive Leadership: Exceptional stakeholder management, cross-functional influence, team development, and strategic agility.
