Job Summary
Fido is hiring a full-time Senior Partnerships Manager in Uganda. The role leads partnership strategy, negotiating high-impact B2B alliances with MNOs, fintechs, and banks to scale product adoption and revenue. Applicants require a Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of commercial partnership experience in Uganda's financial ecosystem.
Key Roles & Operational Responsibilities
1. Partnership Strategy & Commercial Business Development
- Growth Strategy Execution: Formulate and execute Fido’s commercial partnership roadmap in Uganda to expand product distribution, boost new loan disbursements, and scale market footprint.
- Pipeline Management: Build and manage an active B2B deal pipeline targeting telecom operators, retail merchant networks, digital payment gateways, and banking institutions.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead high-stakes commercial discussions, revenue-share structuring, contract negotiations, and partnership onboarding.
2. Relationship Oversight & Performance Management
- Key Account Management: Serve as the primary relationship owner for strategic partners, ensuring long-term alignment, operational health, and ongoing value creation.
- KPI Tracking & Optimization: Monitor alliance metrics against growth targets, using performance data to optimize channel conversion and partner engagement.
3. Cross-Functional Commercial Integration
- Product & Risk Alignment: Collaborate with internal Product, Data Science/AI, Risk, Legal, and Marketing teams to design, launch, and scale partner-led distribution channels.
- Market Insights: Gather partner feedback and user intelligence to guide product customization, feature enhancement, and risk model adaptation.
4. Executive Representation & Governance
- Managing Director Proxy: Represent the Managing Director in internal executive forums and external high-level stakeholder meetings when needed, tracking decisions and ensuring execution.
- Industry Leadership: Act as a brand ambassador at industry summits, fintech roundtables, regulatory networking events, and ecosystem conferences.
Foundational Capabilities & Prerequisites
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Academic Baseline: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related discipline. (Master’s degree or relevant professional qualification is a distinct advantage).
- Professional Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years of proven experience leading partnerships, strategic alliances, or business development in fintech, banking, telecoms, or digital payments.
- Industry Network: Established relationships across Uganda's fintech, banking, MNO, payment gateway, and regulatory ecosystems.
- Core Competencies:
- Demonstrated track record of closing B2B commercial agreements that drive measurable business expansion.
- Strong commercial negotiation, contract structuring, and risk-mitigation skills.
- Data-driven analytical ability to evaluate deal unit economics and customer acquisition costs (CAC).
- Excellent executive presence, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
