Job Summary
Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda is seeking a Regional Sales Manager reporting to the Sales Director. The role drives volume, revenue, and profitability targets across an assigned region, leading regional sales operations, distributor networks, and trade execution. Key Roles & Operational Responsibilities
1. Commercial Leadership & Volume Performance
- Regional Ownership: Own and manage the region's beverage portfolio to deliver revenue, volume, margin, and profitability targets aligned with annual business plans.
- Team Leadership & Coaching: Lead, inspire, and develop the regional sales force; monitor performance metrics, provide field coaching, and implement gap-closure action plans.
- Revenue Growth Management: Optimize revenue growth through effective pricing strategies, pack-mix management, customer segmentation, and trade promotions.
2. Route-to-Market & Distributor Management
- 3PD Oversight: Manage third-party distributors (3PDs), stockists, and trade contractors to ensure product availability, optimal stock levels, and seamless route-to-market execution.
- Channel Execution: Implement channel-specific commercial strategies, trade programs, and local/national brand activations across modern and traditional trade channels.
- Customer Partnerships: Conduct periodic business reviews with key regional trade partners and engage in frequent trade visits to strengthen commercial relationships.
3. Execution Excellence & Sales Technology
- Sales Force Automation (SFA): Enforce compliance with SFA systems, ensuring accurate customer data, route adherence, and real-time execution tracking.
- Cold Drink Equipment (CDE) & Asset Care: Oversee cooler placement, asset care, purity compliance, and merchandising standards across regional retail outlets.
- Demand Planning Insights: Feed regional market intelligence, competitor activity, and sales forecasts into national supply chain demand planning.
Foundational Capabilities & Prerequisites
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Academic Baseline: Earned Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related business field.
- FMCG Sales Experience:
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in FMCG sales operations.
- Minimum of five (5) years in a commercial management or leadership role overseeing sales teams and revenue targets.
- Key Competencies:
- Demonstrated success in route-to-market (RTM) strategy and distributor management.
- Strong commercial acumen, financial literacy, and margin management capability.
- Advanced leadership, conflict resolution, coaching, and stakeholder negotiation skills.
- High adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced FMCG operational environment.
